Love Comes In Different Flavors
This morning I went to CVS because I needed a new umbrella. CVS wasn’t open yet so I waited outside. Waiting with me was an old guy in a wheel chair with missing legs from the knees down. We talked for a little bit about umbrellas and where else I could find one. Eventually he asked me for some money so he could get something to eat. I told him I wasn’t going to just give him money but I would buy him something to eat. He said he wanted Burger King so that’s where we went.
Soon afterwards I met Cartwheel at Suburban Station. We walked through Rittenhouse Square for a little bit and eventually made our way towards Mi Lah for breakfast. She kept close and careful watch on the food content making a home in my beard. She laughed when I cut into my biscuit and it jumped off my plate and landed on the floor. We left Mi Lah and held hands while talking about Halloween Costumes on our walk towards the Art Museum. We saw Rocky, walked the steps, and she giggled at the impersonators. We sat by a fisherman’s tackle box and watched the Schuylkill. Cartwheel wanted to see LOVE PARK so we made our way there after she bought me an Arnold Palmer. Refreshing. She also bought a bazooka full of water. On the way there she felt a little dizzy so we sat for a bit.
When we made it LOVE PARK we walked towards the sign and she said,
“Is that it? I thought it was bigger.”
I laughed and asked,
“Do you want me to take your picture in front of it?”
“No, thanks”, she said.
A large fellow yells from a bench.
“Do you want me to take your picture?”
I look at Cartwheel.
She says, “Sure.”
We walk under the sign and I put my arm around her shoulder.
He takes the picture.
“One more.” he says. “Kiss her!”
I laugh.
“We just met.” says Cartwheel.
I look at Cartwheel. “We don’t have to if you don’t want too.”
“No it’s okay.”
We kiss.
He snaps the pic.
We laugh. We smile. We blush.
First Kiss. Check.
At least that’s how I remember it.
